Massive Crest Changes

Massive Crest Changes

The 11.0.7 patch introduces significant changes to the Crest system in World of Warcraft, aiming to streamline gear upgrades and enhance the player experience.

Crest Unification

Previously, there were four distinct types of Crests, each tied to specific content tiers and difficulty levels. With this patch, these Crests are being unified into a single type, simplifying their management and acquisition.

Increased Availability

The drop rate of Crests has been increased, particularly in Mythic+ dungeons. Players will now receive more Crests when completing high-level content, making it easier to upgrade their gear.

Transition to Season 2

As Season 2 begins, current Crests will be converted into a new currency, ensuring that players retain their accumulated value. This guarantees a smooth transition to the updated system without losing progress.

Impact on Gear Upgrades

The simplified Crest system makes gear upgrading more accessible, reducing complexity and the time required to enhance items. Players can now focus more on engaging with game content rather than resource management.
In summary, the changes to the Crest system in patch 11.0.7 are designed to make gear upgrades more intuitive and rewarding, improving the overall World of Warcraft experience.

Plunderstorm

Plunderstorm

New Plunderstorm Reward System Plunderstore Previously, Plunderstorm used a Renown-track system called Keg Leg's Crew. Players could earn Renown up to Rank 40 to earn a variety of rewards. Instead of a Renown track, this time around players will be able to earn Plunder Plunder and spend it on rewards in the Plunderstore! This new system gives players the flexibility to purchase rewards of their choice first instead of having to push to a certain Renown level.

Practice Mode Added Players can now test the waters in a new Practice Mode, designed to help newcomers get familiar with Plunderstorm before diving into competitive matches. It’s the perfect way to learn the basics without the pressure of live competition.

Trio Queue Removed In a surprising move, Blizzard has removed the three-player queue option. Players can now only queue solo or with one friend. The reason for this change remains unclear.

How to Earn Plunder
Plunder is essential for purchasing rewards, so collecting as much as possible is key. Here’s how you can earn it:
  • Found on the ground.
  • Dropped by defeated enemies.
  • Dropped by other players you eliminate.
  • Dropped from golden chests (available in 3 sizes; larger chests yield more Plunder but take longer to open).
  • By completing quests (the first daily quest rewards you with 800 Plunder).
  • By winning a match, earning 500 Plunder.

  • New Currency: Flame Blessed Iron Players can collect Flame Blessed Iron, a new currency exchangeable for mounts, pets, gear, and transmog options. Additionally, this currency is used to upgrade a powerful new ring, Cyrce's Circlet, and to summon one of three event bosses on the island, offering further opportunities to obtain unique rewards.
  • New Mount: Thrayir, Eyes of the Siren While exploring the island, players can collect items to free an electrifying storm crow mount, adding a unique element to their collection.
  • Racial Updates : The patch brings changes to the racial abilities of various races, aiming to increase their effectiveness and promote greater diversity in the game. For example, the Gift of the Naaru for Draenei now has a reduced cooldown of 2 minutes (previously 3 minutes), while the Rugged Tenacity of Highmountain Tauren has its effect increased by 50%.
  • Customizations for Humans and Kul Tiran : Humans and Kul Tiran receive new Arathi-themed ear customization options. Players can visit the Barber Shop to modify their character's appearance with these new options.
  • Return of the Turbulent Timeways : The Turbulent Timeways return, allowing players to explore Timewalking dungeons from past expansions each week to earn heroic rewards. Completing these challenges enables players to obtain the Timely Buzzbee Skyriding mount.
