Gameplay of Dastardly Duos

Pit off against bosses of old in the Dastardly Dome. Here is how the basic gameplay and mechanics of Dastardly Duos works:

Preparation Stage

Players can queue into Dastardly Duos with up to 5 players. Any unfilled spots will be filled with Volunteers, which function identically to Follower Dungeon NPCs. Once players enter the Dastardly Dome, they can prepare a strategy and consume various foods and drinks for combat buffs, etc., before pitting off in a fight for glory. If you want more of a challenge, talk to Xyggie Marou to dismiss the Volunteers and enter the ring on your own.

Additional food options can be ordered by talking to Wodin the Troll-Servant. From there, players have the choice of which food they want in their next instance of Dastardly Duos. There are a multitude of options to select from, so feel free to get creative and maybe even challenge yourself a bit!

Combat

Once players approach the entrance gate to the arena, a pop up will display asking if the players are ready to enter the Dome. Clicking "Yes" starts a 10-second timer after which the gates open and the fight begins!

Towards the top of the UI is a display showcasing a group's overall score along with the time they have remaining, which will contribute to the bonus score once all enemies in the Arena have been defeated. The instance starts with typical dungeon and elite mobs and then will feature two animatronic bosses at the end.

Completing a Run of Dastardly Duos: Score
Once players have completed a run of Dastardly Duos, their performance is displayed at the end, by their overall score. There are three main contributors to how much score a group earns:
Damage to bosses, props, and trash.
How quickly the match was completed.
Avoiding deaths.

Earning Bonus Score: Cherry Bombs and More
There are a few ways for players to earn bonus score during their runs. During the fight, interactable items called Cheery Bombs can be found throughout the arena, which have a large, green circle around them. Right-clicking a Cheery Bomb kicks it in the direction the player is facing. Any trash or bosses defeated within a Cheery Bomb will net the player double score. Other bonus to score include using  Burner Clocks,  BIG Burner Clocks, and consuming challenging foods before combat, such as  "Challenging" Shrimpy Fish.

Rewards Available with Dastardly Duos

Item Level Rewards

Completing an instance of Dastardly Duos rewards a Prize Chest containing Warbound Veteran-track gear. With each week of the event, Vinnie Sweets will drop a weekly quest that rewards players with a  Dastardly Prize Purse that contains Champion-track armor. This is a great leveling opportunity for any alternate characters.

Toys

Item Level gear is not the only reward players earn with the Weekly Quests. There are also a variety of different Toys players can earn, including a  Dastardly Banner,  Winner's Podium, and more. Some of these Toys have special interactions within an instance of Dastardly Duos.
