Welcome to the Patch 11.1.7 Overview Guide for The War Within Expansion. Formally called, Legacy of Arathor, this is the next content update coming to The War Within, after Patch 11.1.5. In this guide, we will cover the essentials of what all is being added in Legacy of Arathor, including the Arathi Highlands Campaign, Lorewalking, Overcharged Delves, and more!

Arathi Highlands Campaign

Our journey so far has been focused on Khaz Algar, but there is new trouble brewing in the Arathi Highlands. As tensions grow between the Horde and Alliance, players will join Faerin Lothar and Danath Trollbane on a mission to soothe the rising hostility between these two factions. Here are some main features coming with this new Campaign story:

This new Storyline will feature two chapters, with branching viewpoints for each faction.
Players will receive unique Transmog rewards for completing this campaign:
Alliance: Stromgarde Tabard
Horde: Hammerfall Tabard
Lamplighter's Pauldrons: Shoulder Transmog inspired by Faerin's own pauldrons.

Lorewalking with Lorewalker Cho

A new questing experience is coming to players level 10 and up, known as Lorewalking. Players will be able to speak with Lorewalker Cho in either Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Dornogol and step back into some of the iconic lore moments in Azeroth's past. There will be previously introduced quests, along with new ones, for players to experience with their own eyes.

There are three repeatable quest chains available from Lorewalker Cho:

Meet the Ethereals: Travel to Netherstorm, meet Alleria and Locus-Walker, visit the Brokers in the Shadowlands and unlock Tazavesh.
Experience Xal’atath’s Storyline: Learn more about the Blade of the Black Empire and her transformation in BfA.
Face the Past with Arthas: Return to Stratholme and relive the moment of betrayal in Wrath of the Lich King, stepping into the role of the Lich King himself.

Overcharged Delves

Overcharged Delves bring more exciting adventures to players and their companion Brann Bronzebeard. Six Delves receive a new affix, “Overcharged”, with increased danger and rewards:

Skittering Breach
The Spiral Weave
Nightfall Sanctum
Fungal Folly
Sidestreet Sluice

New power systems include:

Titan Disc Belt (upgradable weekly)
Delve Trait Tree with unique traits

Rewards include:

Overcharged Mech Suit mount
New currency and high-level gear

Turbulent Timeways with BFA Dungeons

Turbulent Timeways returns! This six-week Timewalking event includes dungeons from multiple expansions. Bonus XP and Heroic Raid-level loot are included.

New mount reward: Chrono Corsair

Greedy Emissary & Tier 2 Armor Recolors

A Greedy Emissary returns with new rewards! Players can earn mounts and recolors of the classic Tier 2 armor sets.

Sets confirmed for:

Death Knights, Hunters, Mages
Monks, Shamans, Evokers
Rogues, Demon Hunters, Warlocks
Warriors, Druids, Priests
Paladins

Minor Changes

Patch 11.1.7 – Legacy of Arathor introduces small but useful improvements:

Fixed the tooltip for Recuperate, which now correctly shows a 30s health regeneration.
Specific fixes for Rogues during leveling.
New UI accessibility options added, including cast assistance and an improved Cooldown Manager.
Timewalking Dungeons are now more challenging but offer better rewards and increased Timewarped Badges.
