The NPC companion in Season 1 is Brann Bronzebeard. You can customize his abilities, choosing whether he will be a healer or a damage dealer, and selecting idols and relics that grant specific abilities and special buffs.
Excavations are marked on the War Within map with a specific icon. Approaching the entrance will bring up a pop-up interface providing detailed information about the Excavation, including the type of mobs and available rewards.
Excavations are located in four different zones: Khaz Algar, Resonant Depths, Hollowcradle, and Azj-Kahet, each with unique environments and mobs.
During Excavations, you can find rare mobs, treasure chests, herb and mineral nodes, and obtain temporary power-ups. Rewards include mounts, achievements, pets, and gear equivalent to that found in raids and Mythic dungeons.
Excavations are divided into 11 difficulty levels:
- Levels 1-2: For leveling.
